Please stop by my other site for the “side project” I have going on with Lane Zumoff at Fragment5.com. It updates today! I thank you for it…
Added some new links to some interesting comics on the links page… check em’ out!
One of the readers of the last strip had mentioned Helen Keller in a comment. I did a little research (as I always do on historical stuff), and discovered a fanatic religious website that claimed Helen Keller was a satanist. It had a text link on the side that said “this is not a hate site”, in addition to saying the Popes are all anti-christs. It all adds up to good time party fun, where everybody must get stoned… with large rocks.
Just got some new used books from alibris.. Color Index and Color Index 2 by Jim Krause. Really neat books with gobs of interesting color combinations… I look forward to trying them out in Muddlecreek. See you Monday!
Keong from the late lamented T-N-T strip had a little color twisting fun with
the “Mysterious Stranger” strip… making it “Mysterious Even Stranger”. Ha!
Here’s a couple of samples - psychedelic results ensue. Thanks to Keong C. for this.

Howdy! I owe an apology to those who visited the site on Monday night during the middle of a minor revamp. Visitors found banners of varying quality and size, and probably some baffling wonders of website navigation. Thanks to the creators of Eben07 and Calamities of Nature for the input on the banner size & quality. For the revamp I took some advice from the creator of Plenty Deep & Soulless Me… also thanks for his input. In addition, I was trying to place a couple of graphics in place of the standard comicpress arrows, but found myself stumped by the modern marvel of PHP code. It’s like an old man with a DVD remote. (*Speaking in old man voice* Damned speaking box with pictures! This never would have happened if they hadn’t've taken prayer out of schools! Is Matlock on yet?)

Actually, I like Robert Downey’s movies… The final film reference mentioned by Diggs - it’s called “The Last Party“. I remember watching it back in the 90’s.
As far as Iron Man the film, I’m going to try to talk my wife into seeing it… or maybe my brothers want to see it. Something tells me my oldest brother already has, and the other two who would be interested will probably see it with their kids. If you’ve seen it, don’t spoil it for me…
It was an honor this weekend for me to get my PW ads up on the Starslip Crisis Website, and the Phables web site (I live in the Philadelphia area… that makes it especially sweet to have my ad there).
I just read their great book on “How to Make Webcomics”… which I highly reccomend if you’re a webcomicker and haven’t read it already.
On a bit of a tangent - I think my favorite all time cartooning books were by Ken Muse - called “The Secrets of Professional Cartooning” and “The Total Cartoonist“. The first one, I think, is the best. Both are helpful. Some of it may be a bit dated, it was long before comics were given new life via computer technology and webcomics… but he has some interesting sections on the old school cartoonists - Schulz, Herriman, Segar, etc , how they work and the tools they use. Both books have extensive sections on good pen nibs and brushes. Unfortunately, Ken Muse probably didn’t know about Microns, which I think many of us use now.
See you Friday!
